Rated 4 out of 5 by Ghost from Worth The Money I bought this combo last year for catfish at my local lake. The rod is sensitive enough to tell you when a small channel cat has picked up your bait and strong enough to hall in anything short of a trophy blue or flathead. The reel is just okay. Typical Shakespeare reel: cheap and not meant to last more than a season or two before you need to upgrade. It gets the job done for a weekend angler but I'm not a fan of the drag system. For what it's worth though, the reel is still on the rod. I used it all year with no problem. I'll use the reel until it breaks down and I'll keep the rod until it snaps (which I doubt will happen anytime soon).

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tammy from This gift was a winner I bought this stick as a Christmas Gift for my husband who is an avid fisherman and I obviously made the right choice. He LOVES it! Since I don't know much about fishing rods, I was a little concerned about my choice but my husband assured me that I purchased one of the best and he can't wait to try it out!

Rated 5 out of 5 by HenDawg from White Catfish Rods are Awesome I got 2 of these combo's. Personally I take off hte spinning reels and leave them as spares, because they are actually decent reels, I just prefer using baitcasters. I hooked into a 7ft - 250# Shark of some sort off a pier in SC. That rod handled it like a champ. I firmly believe as long as you know how to set drag and properly use a rod & reel, you won't break 1 of these. They also work great trolling Umbrella rigs in the Chesapeake Bay for Rockfish. I can't say a bad thing about them

Rated 5 out of 5 by Seal87 from Best Catfish Combo! Bought one of these combos years ago and still use it today. Liked it so much that I went and bought 2 more. One for my wife and the other for a back up! Caught mutiple 15-20lb catfish from a creek behind my house! My number one combo! Great feel and awesome flex. Not to mention the eyes on the rod glow in the dark!
