Rated 5 out of 5 by JAYDUB from Great bang for the buck Ugly Stick rods have always had a great reputation for being a great bang for the buck and these Custom Casting Rods adhere to that reputation. I also own two Ugly Stick Bigwater Boat rods and these rods are a great upgrade from those rods for only $5 more. I did find one problem with the manufacturers line class rating on the rods but that shouldn't detract from the quality of the rods. In my opinion the rods rated at 20-50# should be rated at 20-40# with 30# being the ideal line class for the rod. The rods rated at 30-60# should be rated at 30-50# with 40# being the ideal line class for the rod. As with all Ugly Stick rods you would have to spend over twice as much to get any better rod.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Maybe Baby from Ugly Custom Spinning First of all, let me start my review with a complaint. It is directed more towards the industry rather than this product. The descriptions and power ratings, etc are vague, non-standard, and confusing. I called PF for help and fortunately I talked to someone that knew what he was talking about. I already knew Uglies were incredible rods, at any price, but even more so at their price. I own about 8 different models. I've only been fishing for 57 years so take what I say with a grain. While explaining the descrepencies on the line ratings the man explained to me that the M-H was for casting and the H was for trolling. So I ordered the M-H, and matched it up with an Okuma Azore 55. I live on a lake and use it mostly as a test lab. This rod is amazing. It is perfect for casting in the ocean. Cobia, kings, yellowtail, & dolphin have alredy met my grill. Throwing around bouys and schooling baitfish is so much fun with this rig. Pay more if you want to, but this product would be my first choice if it came down to performance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Commotion from 7ft custom heavy spin rod. First time using this rod I caught and released approximately 50, 12 to 15lb Bluefish on various topwater lures. I was fishing south side of Block Island. Great rod for large hard fighting fish. Nice quality at a great price and would buy another for sure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by VetteSiNz from My #23 Ugly Stik Rod :) I just receive this USCS M-H to add to my collection. I've been a fan of this brand for its toughness. Some of the other models I have are 6 ISSP, 3 USCS, 10 BWS, and 4 CBI.....now let's go fishing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Marty Ley from Great Quality at a Great Price There is no other rod made that can compare to the value and quality for the price of an Ugly Stik Custom Big Water rod. I now have four of the Custom Big Water Ugly Stiks, 2 casting and 2 spinning. The quality is excellent and exceeds expectations. The value for the dollar can't be beat. I love mine. They are TOUGH and very capable rods.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Chulaboy619 from Great for rockfish and lingcod! I bought two for some bottom fishing this summer in central California. One medium action, and one in medium-heavy. I liked them so well, I bought a third for my son so he doesn't need to borrow mine. Big lingcod were no match for these rods. A definite step up in quality from the Tiger models.
