Rated 5 out of 5 by WVbowhunter from The bomb! If you know what I mean. I've used ugly stick rods for 30 years and I've purchased about every model made over the years. In my opinion these are some of the best rods made in the industry. This new elite series is the total package combining all of the great features that ugly stick rods have provided throughout the years. Don't let the price discourage you from buying this rod, it is slightly higher than most ugly stick rods. This is the Cadillac and will compare to other rods that are priced 2 to 3 times more. Join the brotherhood! You will be a fan for life!

Rated 5 out of 5 by DrWaSaBe from USESP602M is an Excellent all rounder + Tough as heck! + Sensitive to the lightest bites (even more than the GX2) + Lighter than the GX2 + Very fun to fight a fish on it, regardless of the size + My favorite rod, catches small fish to big ones! - Guides bend and chip out of shape if you drop your rod alot (but you shouldn't do that) - Hook holder bends out of shape I also own an ugly stik 5 foot ultra light (2pc) and 9 foot salmon rod (2pc)

Rated 5 out of 5 by Alwaysfishing from Best stick for the money I have used these rods for the past 10 years (primary rods) and have never been disappointed! I've read other reviews stating they are not sensitive- my experience has been otherwise. Very strong with a sensitive tip, what more can you ask for. The price has always been surprising for what you get. Try one and write your review!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ray Borbon from 7'6" Medium is great I just picked this rod up matched with a Shimano Stradic. This Ugly Stik landed Coho salmon all day long. Weights of fish were 5-12 lbs and Coho are very acrobatic and have some heart. The Elite Rod is sensitive to throw 1/4 jigs as advertised. I was using such a jig all day long and threw back many salmon. This rod is as good as my old Ugly Stik Lite Salmon/Steelhead rod. Plenty of backbone where needed and a sensitive setup. Thumbs up!

Rated 5 out of 5 by BenSteel from Superb Rod I love this rod! It is sleek, beautiful, and functional. It outcasts every other pole I know and the sensitivity is really nice. Landed a Northern Pike within 30 minutes of fishing. I wanted the Ugly Stik durability, and the new elite series really adds a great deal of sensitivity to the rod. I bought the 7'6M and paired it with the Penn Fierce 3000. Works like a dream.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tsfishin from Excellent Rod for trout This Rod has excellent tip action. Not to light, not to stiff. The rod itself is very light but sturdy and strong. Use still fishing or trolling ith the assurance that the fish will be landed. I happen to troll and this rod is second to none. I own many different brands and this is definitely my go to rod. Paired with a reel matched to your technique, this rod will never disappoint. Very nice tip action on the Medium that I purchased

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rzes from Great "fast action" Rod Let me begin by saying I am 50 years old & own 50 fishing poles. When I opened the box, I thought they sent me a 7 ft. Medium action, instead of a Medium Light, but it was the Medium Light. The pole is light, but stiff & I liked the new eyelets. I would say the handle (the grip) is for normal sized man's hands, like most other rods. I immediately took this rod on a 2 day Michigan trip. It was GREAT for: 1/2 rat-L-traps & spinner baits. Understand the fast action, means, most of the action is in the top half of the rod. This " fast action", makes this the an absolutely PERFECT, walleye trolling rod, when using: crawler-harness's or crank-baits. I am confident it could handle steelhead. This pole's action is similar to the Ugly Stik light, however you don't have to worry about your friends looking down on you. This pole is very elegant looking & has the quality of poles I have paid twice as much for. If you want a true Medium Light pole, with regular action. I recommend the Ugly Stik, Inshore Select.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AnonAngler from Great rod, favorite ugly stik yet. I've owned multiple of the original ugly stik, ugly stik lite, gx2 and now this elite. The elite I purchased is a two piece 6' medium fast action spinning rod. Among all the rods this elite is my favorite yet. I bought the elite as soon as it hit the shelves of my local bass pro. Since then I went out and used it as my primary rod about 15 times. This rod is really great; as opposed to all the other ugly stik's I have owned this one is by far the most sensitive. Typically the term sensitive and ugly stik aren't used in the same sentence, the elite has changed the game. The addition of even more graphite than the gx2 made a substantial difference in the way the rod feels and fishes. After landing bass, pike and other various species with this rod not once did I feel as though there was any compromised strength in the rod itself. Another nice touch is the cork handle w/ the burned in logo. Though the cork is not of st croix quality it still has a good feel even after a long day on the water. At the cost of $49.99 you won't find a better rod and I highly recommend the elite.
