Rated 5 out of 5 by Drew3030 from Allways dependable So about 20 years ago a received a 6 7 weight ugly stick fly rod. I still own it today and I decided to get the 8 9 weight rod. I have since returned my 400 dollar llbean rod and I have my other two rods to my nephews. What I am saying is that this new fly rod has all the reliability and strength you will ever need. I will never fish anything else. It does have a larger profile than other 8 9 weight rods on the market but it remains sensitive. I now land more fish because I can put extreme amounts of flex and stress on my rod without failure. God bless you Shakespeare Ugly Stick.

Rated 5 out of 5 by hudran1 from great big game rod I bought one of these rods a year ago in the 8-9 weight 9 foot to fish for grass carp and throw big streamer patterns for trout and bass. It has performed flawlessly on 40+ pound carp

Rated 5 out of 5 by Steve W from Great rod for the money I have used two of these rods on the Kenai River for Sockeye. They were great! No problems whatsoever with them. They have a nice action, handled the fish well and and the price cannot be beat.

Rated 1 out of 5 by ShortRound from Quality Wanting Upon receiving the 9-ft., 10 weight Ugly Stik fly rod, I noticed that the guides on the top section were a bit out of alignment. Apparently because that section was not quite straight. Additionally, the fly rod was so flexible that I cannot imagine it doing a good job of casting the kind of heavy flies used for saltwater fishing. Save your money and buy a decent saltwater fly rod.

Rated 5 out of 5 by lcdbm89 from 6/7 7-6 Ugly Stik and by golly it's amazing! I went out of my way to complete my trout rod collection by getting this Vintage Ugly Stik FYI1100 Fly rod! Single hand, 6-7# 7'6" medium action. It's a stellar piece of equipment and we've already put it to good use on some beautiful Oregon streams!
