Rated 5 out of 5 by Black150 from I purchased this rod to do duel duty, freshwater bassin and inshore redfish, snook and trout. I wanted the 7'6" MY/Fast spinning for its backbone and capability. I paired it with a new PENN 4000 Pursuit II spinning reel filled with 50# braid over 12# mono. Though I haven't yet had a fishing trip and hookup, I am extremelyy happy with the balance, feel, sensitivity and remarkable casting accuracy and distance achieved in practice. The rod feels like I've been using it for years. I have four other ugly sticks, 3 spin and 1 bait cast. I expect this to be my flipping favorite rod. I can't be happier with it. Shipping was pretty fast and damage free packaging.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Knoxevan from Best yet!! I'm just amazed at the evolution of these rods! I've owned about a dozen uglysticks in just about every model offered in the past 10 years. I've also purchased quite a few other brands, some in combos and what I've found is that over the years time will always reveal the best of the best. While the others come and go, the uglys just won't give up! Looking at my rod rack theres a few lonely old rods that long out lived their reels. (Probably a couple of them) That says something about the brand. After reading reviews online I bought 2 gx2s paired up with penn battle 2s and then made my own personal best combos you can buy right now with the new inshore select 7' med/heavy paired up with a daiwa bg4000. Let's see 10 years from now who's still standing? Absolutely love the new uglystick models! The inshore select being my favorite thus far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mona from Awesome pole I liked the way the 7'6" medium inshore worked with my 3000 reel that I ordered a medium heavy pole for my 4000 reel to replace the pole on it. Both are superior poles for handling. I can cast for hours. Have caught big red's w/ ease. Still handles the small fish too. Like them so much I am gonna fish for catfish and salmon in rivers up north! We travel America fishing in retirement and I take these poles eveywhere

Rated 5 out of 5 by JLFL from Nice rod for the money. Bought the older Inshore Select and love it. Got this new model with the one piece guides and cork grip. It's a winner. Got the 7'6" med action. Feels good with live bait or lures. I own some more expensive rods, these Ugly Sticks get used more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SCCoastalFish from Great rod for the money I bought the 7' medium rod for inshore fishing in SC. It has a lot more backbone than the casting model. The spinning performed excellent when we jumped a school of Little Tunnys, 5-8lbs. That was some great action. Can't attest to the durability, yet. Only wish they would make a medium heavy action with a cork handle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by bubba fish from I bought a 7 footer, medium, fast. For me this rod is a great choice for bass. So far I've caught 6, with one a respectable 3lbs. I like the way I can feel the bottom with the fast tip. And it has plenty of backbone to turn a large fish around. It casts a mile. I've got a 25 year old 6'6" baitcasting ugly stick in perfect shape. Thanks Shakespeare!
