Great Product! Exactly what I needed!!
I just picked up this rod from a local tackle store and I couldn't be happier. I use this rod for my Striper and Sturgeon fishing here on the California Delta and rivers around here and it holds up very well. It's sturdiness and power is second to none which is why I own many Igly Sticks from Big Water setups to the Gx2 that I use a lot for lighter tackle and more of my trout fishing around here. Anyhow, back to the Tiger rod. Not only is this rod powerful but it handles more than one of my common applications I use here. It works beautifully for my heavy hard baits/swim baits as well for those who like to cast out lures. If you are looking for a rod that can do more than this is the rod for you.

Great rod but....
I have close to 30 Ugly Stik rods, between both salt and freshwater. The Tiger series is my favorite of all- tough, dependable, great action and simply a joy to fish. I am however disappointed with the new guides, cheap and ugly. The attraction to Ugly sticks are performance and quality surpassing its price point. I miss the older guides with inserts found on previous Tiger rods and on competitors rods that ran twice or more as much. Why deviate from a winning formula?

nice rod
Bought rod to put a penn spin fisher 9500 reel on to go after big river cats and gulf coast bull reds. Stout rod with nice action. Onley reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 was because of the eyes. Not sure how the stainless eyelets will hold up to braided line. Liked the older type eyelets better. Time and a few 30-40 lb fish will tell. Overall, great rod for the money.

tough is the word
I bought a few of these in diff weight class. I leave 4 rods fully rigged in my cabin of the offshore boat i own. I had a couple of Penns and Shimano's over the years and they get destroyed by use and storage. either by breaking tips or more frequently eye inserts popping out. I see people complaining about the guide switch , but for me that's why I replaced all my old with these fantastic rods. They are tough , will outlast any much higher priced rods and do the job, whether it's stripers or fast moving Bluefin tuna I chase. I have the 80-100 lb. line class and it is not big and bulky in your hands. Ugly Stik made a real winner here and when they switched to a rubber gimbal from metal, a win again for me. Less scrapes and black and blues on my waste and everyone else that uses it. We all think they get an A+

Great rod except the guides.
Bought 9' GX2 and made a mistake of putting a braid on it. After a few trips on salt water the smaller guides including the Tip top was abraided and became very rough. I went back to mono line and now my line gets shredded all the time because of the guides being rough.

Very happy
I purchased 2 tiger stiks for my wife and me and we love them. We fish off the bank in rio Vista California home of good striper fishing. These rods have great sensitivity and are durable , definitely get more rod then what you pay for.
