Could be an amazing catfish rod, but yet again, this manufacturer refuses to listen to their customers. How utterly stupid when they could be selling so many more of theses! The gimbal, which no freshwater catfish angler uses, has ruined this rod. I guess you could trim it off with a knife so it could be used in a rod holder, but why should we have to do that?

Caught a lot of catfish in canal and thank you for my dad I got him on these rods and he does not look back now and he bought me this a will be trying it out on Pulaski:)

I have 6 of the 8 footers and absolutely love them. I mainly fish from the bank on the Brazos and Red rivers. These rods hold up to the abuse that a catfish rod goes through. Thank you Ugly Stik for making an affordable and durable catfish rod.

I've been using this product for a long time and I am very pleased with the ugly sticks. I normally receive my orders in a prompt time. The only problem that I have had was last year I placed a order and was shorted 2 ugly sticks striper rods. All I got was part of the box with the shipping label on it. I called customer service and did what they told me to do. Send and picture of the box to there email address. Well I did everything they said. Waited a long time, no reply. Emailed pure fishing multiple times and no reply. So in nice words I never got my other two rods and had to pay for 2 more. I was very unhappy with that and still not happy with it. But yet I still continue to buy your product bc I like it. All I want is what I pay for.

I own 12 of these catfish rods, only thing I don't like is the gimbal mount on the end. It can make getting the rod out of the rod holder aggravating at times.
