Well the rod held up to my pb sheephead. I would recommend changing out the reel but man I was surprised how this combo held up over a sheephead at 24 inches. Would I fish with it again for sheephead? You got dang right I will.

I was top water fishing for smallmouths and accidentally pulled a musky the length of the dock runner. The reel was a bass pro shops prodigy 3000 size. I was so happy the rod proved well over its worth in weight of gold. This rod has also landed a fish ohio catfish early last year.

I've had it for a year now, and I fish almost every weekend, catching baby tarpon, some weighing up to 14 pounds The rod works perfectly; it's the best rod in terms of performance and price. For a whole year, I haven't had to change any guides or rings, which was very common with other rods. All I can say is congratulations

Replace the reel and it makes an AMAZING small stream trout rod PERFECT for flicking under brush and skip casting in narrow spaces.. Doubles as a great ice rod for winter as well. Can handle some hefty ones.
