    The action is very good and once you get the hang of it, it is smooth casting from there. It i really good for its price and i would recommend looking up how much line you need to spool on with the braid. It is kind of heavy but thats the only negative thing i would say.

    Hood reel rod bad handle

    I am super impressed with the baitcaster. It is my first one I've had and I haven't really had much trouble with it birds nest here and there but that's expected but overall the rod is good very durable and light weight but the handle needs improvement. The cork handle looks cool but managed to break off near the bottom with only three weeks of use.

    acts like a $200 micro combo

    I bought this 2 years ago and have waited to give review based on heavy small and large moth fishing sessions. I've used Johnny Morris, lucky 13 and shimano setups around 200-300 dollars that were similar but this combo paces better.

    First off- pairing proper line is a must. I use either 6lb spider wire braid or Berkeley 10 lb I-9 braid. These seem to lay out on casts perfectly and have. A perfect diameter for spool out/in without birds nest.

    Second - spool is made of polished aluminum and runs very smooth, probably the most endearing quality of the combo.

    Third- rod is typical ugly stik quality, one of the things I love most about their products... durable rugged and dummy proof. Holds up to a beating after a 10 hr fishing trip of being clumsy and tired hauling gear from boat.

    Great action

    Really like this combo for Calico bass fishing from my waverunner. Easy to cast one handed. Just love the Ugly Stik!

    Perfect combination

    Got it in and put a mid grade monofilament 12lb line on it. Was easy to set and was catching fish the next day. Will be purchasing a new one soon.
