Just traded the reel out, but it was definitely usable. Love the rod though. I was surprised by its sensitivity, flexibility, especially how well it stays together.

The ugly stick was great but the baitcaster broke on the first use. Had to buy a replacement.

I gotta say these travel rods are just amazing. I have the larger spinning and light spinning rods but I need the casting rod. I would buy this kit but I'm left handed and need a LH reel. Really I just wish you would sell the casting travel rod on it's own so I could just buy that.
Can't say enough good things about the spinning travel rods, I've owned the 6'6" for more than 10 years, used and abused it every summer and never had an issue.
Don't make me go buy the Chinese 4 piece casting rod, please guys sell the casting travel rod on it's own. Normally I wouldn't care enough to write stuff but I really like these rods.
