I bought one of these rods to take with me on a plane to Miami and the keys. About 2 or 3 weeks later went on another trip to Fort Walton beach. Fishing in the canals in Miami ended up being short casts, and few fish caught, so the rod didn't get a lot of testing. In fort Walton, a couple of weeks later; while making a cast into the surf, the tip of the rod came off breaking my line and losing the tip in the ocean...
Customer service was extremely slow to respond to my inquiry on purchasing or them replacing the tip section of this rod. No offer to purchase a whole new rod at a discount, no replacement tip, no replacement rod... basically just a "good luck, buy another rod" kind of situation.
I think the rod shouldn't have come apart during regular use since the rod was still new, less than 30 days old at the time. I also think that Ugly Stick should have stood behind their product by sending a replacement tip or replacement rod.
