Love the new shorter, XHeavy model

I purchased a new rod when I saw the short, XH jigging rod. I fish the northern Gulf of Mexico for snapper, grouper, and anything that swims by. This new model has better “feel”, and is easy to handle in a center console. This past Monday I caught red snapper, Vermillion snapper, and a 40” Cobia. The rod handled everything with great feel and tremendous backbone. I love this rod, and will be adding more to my stock.

    Absolute junk

I have now broken two of these on in one trip. Been using the elite series for years, figured the first time was fluke, ordered another. First fish on the rod, a 15lb snapper at 22lbs of drag, rod horizontal, entire second half of rod twist sideways and breaks 1ft from the tip. First fish on it. Exact same thing happened on rod this one replaced.

I have several 6 other tiger elite rods and they are workhorses, but it seems the new ones are trash.

We're very sorry to hear about your experience, especially after the success you've had with your previous Tiger Elite rods. We understand how frustrating it must be to have two rods fail in a similar manner, particularly on the first fish.

This is certainly not the performance we expect from our products, and we'd like the opportunity to investigate. Please contact our consumer service team with the rod model numbers, where they were purchased, and any photos of the damage. Our team will be happy to review the issue and assist you with the warranty process.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and we appreciate the chance to make this right.

    A very nice rod…

Fished it today and ended up cutting the hooks off all of my other setups. I am truly impressed at the power and action of this rod. Had it paired with Penn Fathom II 25NLD2. Pulling doubles up from 500 ft. and it didn’t hesitate one bit. Tip is soft enough to fill those rock fish taps. This rod will make the trip with me ever time.
