I bought the 35 vers. Caught couple bass/catfish 2-3 pounder. For that price, it's a OKAY reel. It's not a great reel but it's not terrible either. I don't recommend this reel for beginner. Its very bulking and heavy unless you have a very strong arm and hands joints to handle this bulking reeling action.

Strong, smooth and capable reel. However when new out of package they do not turn over/return bail easily when turning the handle. The reason? There is a rubber type waterproof seal seen when the spool is removed. It is just below the path for the bail return path/spring activation. It is easily removed and the reel becomes a $100+ reel. No worries about water than most reels with this rubber piece removed. Highly recommended

Problem with 35...first use, drag didn't work. Bought through Amazon, returning and getting a 30.Other reviews said there were problems with the 35. Really bummed me out.

I bought 3 size 30 reels. 1 broke the bail wire, 1 bent the bail wire, and 1 lost the screw that holds the bail. The other two's bail screws started coming loose but I caught it in time before they completely came out. So I had to buy a small allen wrench to tighten them. All this within 6 months. Never heard back from customer service. Other than that they are very nice reels for the price. If the bail wire was strengthened and thread locker was put on the screws they would be 5 stars.
